US Marine Corps Lieutenant David met Ashley, and he soon was in love.  After only seven months of dating,  Ashley and David then spent the NEXT seven months apart, as David was deployed to Afghanistan.

Back at home – Ashley and her mom, assisted by event planner Tim Komen, planned the perfect wedding. The couple married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Downtown Pittsburgh, and celebrated with a reception at the elegant and grand Omni William Penn Hotel.

Not even the remarkably tall & elegant cake by Bella Christie Sweet Boutique could steal attention away from the beautiful bride! Alençon lace from Ashley’s mother’s veil lined her own, matching perfectly to the lace on her Vera Wang wedding gown. Contrasted against David’s dress blues uniform, this was nothing short of a gorgeous couple.

With every detail hand-selected– including the music of Pittsburgh’s own The John Parker Band— David and Ashley, along with their guests, certainly experienced a night to remember.

Ashley and David soon jetted off to Fiji, but returned to the news that David would be deployed to Japan to help with the Tsunami relief effort.  But, while there, David was able to receive a call from his new wife, sharing the wonderful news that they’d soon be parents!

Now enjoying life with a new baby boy, we wish Ashley and David all the best in continuing their love story!

Ashley and David’s story was recently featured in Whirl Magazine

Our very own John Parker was featured in Whirl Magazine– Greater Pittsburgh’s Premier Lifestyle Magazine last month!

“Parker is the picture of style and class as both an entertainer and an emcee”, boasts the article, referencing John and his band’s performing at thousands of events!

John discusses the importance of personalizing music to each wedding; it’s not always about “new” music, but rather about meaningful music– performed by a great wedding band, of course!

Always happy to meet couples planning for their big day, John Parker, of The John Parker Band, participated in the Southern Ocean County & Long Beach Island area’s “Wedding Road Show“.  Having spent many months of every year of his life in L.B.I., and having played many Long Beach Island weddings, John is at home on this beautiful Island. “LBI gets in your blood, & once you’re hooked,  there’s really nowhere else quite like it!” John says.  LBI, long-known as an upscale beach destination, is ever increasing in popularity for weddings.

Organized by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, this year’s show was graciously hosted by the Boat House, a fun and casual, yet elegant and enchanting, bayside restaurant & wedding venue in Beach Haven.  Drawing hundreds of brides & grooms– all excitedly anticipating their own weddings– the Wedding Road Show is an unparalleled New Jersey Beach Wedding resource. Music, entertainment, venues, food…the best of the best opportunities were ALL there!

Throughout the day, John met with brides, grooms, and their families (his cutie kids & future bandmates Sara and Wes helped when things got busy!!).

Under a magnificent tent on the sprawling grounds of a beautiful private home in suburban Baltimore Maryland, Katie and Matt celebrated their wedding day with a outdoor reception to dream of.  ♥  The  estate’s grounds overlooked the farm where Katie grew up,  which made the setting all the more romantic!

John Parker and his Band, deployed their special setup for tents & with their 8 piece band played a fun mix of songs that kept the bride and groom and their guests dancing for hours! Baltimore wedding photographer Dennis Drenner captured amazing images – here are 6 of them:

JP snapped a few with his iPhone as well:

Congratulations to Katie and Matt!
