The wedding of Mike and Julia at Rustic Acres Farm was a romantic and elegant affair- not to mention fun and relaxed – the perfect combination of chic and country. With twinkling lights strung from the exposed wooden beams of the barn, hay bales, on-trend white pumpkins and the most stylish group of wedding guests you’ll ever see, their wedding was whimsical, autumnal and warm.
The couple forwent the traditional wedding cake for homemade pies by the Rustic Acres Farm in-house baker; playful details like the wire bird toppers made the unique choice that much sweeter.
Julia’s choice of flowers for both her bouquet and the reception were perfect complements to the chic-rustic design of the entire wedding; Lauren Phillips of The Farmer’s Daughter Floral did an exceptional job of balancing modern and traditional for arrangements that were at once composed and relaxed.
For the reception’s entertainment, Julia and Michael had the John Parker Band play until the wee hours of the night. They chose Jack Johnson’s cute “Do You Remember” for their first dance and encouraged their guests to keep the dance floor hot all night long.
It’s hard to beat the countryside in the fall and Julia and Michael’s bridal party portraits shows you why. The fiery yellow, orange and red leaves as a backdrop for Julia’s wedding dress, the men’s dapper suits and the ladies’ deep purple and blues is so stunning; a true feast for the eyes!

Meghan and Andy – The Club at Nevillewood
A storybook summer day for a storybook wedding; this past July 18th was a beautiful sunshine-y day and was the day that Meghan and Andy committed their love for each other in front of their family and friends!
The couple said their vows at St. Bernard’s – a stunningly grand Pittsburgh cathedral with incredible stained glass windows and metalwork that is truly awe-inspiring. After the ceremony, photographer Michael Will ushered the newlyweds to some seriously photogenic spots to capture their just-married smiles in the sun.
Meghan’s dress was a timeless lace gown with feminine cap sleeves and fitted bodice. It was elegant and fun – just like the bride! The bridesmaids wore super stylish navy blue peplum dresses and the guys kept it classic in black. The ladies carried elegant and simple rose bouquets created by Jim Carlucci at Della Robbia.
For the reception, Meghan and Andy chose the Club at Nevillewood, with gorgeously manicured grounds and bright, airy interiors. The white chairs and green tablecloths lent a summery, playful element to the dining room while the crystal candle holders added a touch of glamour. Local vendors Lendable Linens and Elegant Chairs were responsible for providing the pieces that created the fresh, fun look.
After dinner, it seems the entire wedding party and guest list spent all their time on the dance floor! Meghan and Andy mixed it up with old favorites like Etta James’ “At Last” and Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” with new hits like “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor and “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift. Basically, there was something for everyone!
Because they’re such a fun-loving couple, Meghan and Andy decided that in addition to their rose wedding cake, they also wanted an entire pastry table! Again, amazing local vendors Food Glorious Food and Pastries ala Carte provided the sweet treats.
Thank you so much to photographer Michael Will for so generously giving us permission to use his gorgeous photographs on the blog. Be sure to visit his website to see more of his work here.
