Nestled along the remote and pristine haven of silky sand and unspoiled vistas that is Amelia Island,  is the impeccable Ritz Carlton Amelia Island and its breathtaking grounds. A genuine storybook setting for a wedding, which turned into reality when Stephanie & Seth celebrated their wedding ceremony and reception there recently.

Of performing at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island, John Parker says “Entertaining at Ritz-Carlton hotels is always a flawless experience. Their unparalleled customer service and attention to detail are a perfect fit for my OCD personality (laughs). Everything is just so, and brides and their families can count, unequivocally, on having a stellar and unforgettable wedding celebration.”

Stephanie and Seth’s wedding was no exception. Featured in the Spring 2011 issue of Amelia Island Weddings, their big day was one to celebrate. With Palm Beach’s John Parker Band performing, the Bride and Groom and their guests danced the night away. “I loved the music, and the whole evening was upbeat and memorable,” Mother of the Bride Dianne later commented.

Amelia Island Photographer Holly Allain captured images while “the John Parker Band had everyone dancing” (Amelia Island Weddings p 17)!

At the end of January, The John Parker Band helped HistoryMiami celebrate their 70th anniversary at their first-ever Gala!

This event combined elegance and fun with a “Moon Over Miami” theme. Palm Beach’s John Parker Band, who played a significant role in an entertaining evening of 1940’s glamour by playing dancing music from all eras, was thrilled to be a part of this fundraising event. Entertainment abounded the entire evening– cocktail hour featured synchronized swimmers while the John Parker Band’s Jazz/Latin Trio played poolside!

With over 350 guests– all lovers of history and Miami– HistoryMiami was excited to “raise funds for future expansion plans that seek to double museum exhibition and educational spaces”!

After being married at Sacred Heart Church, Jessica and Adrian, along with their family and friends, celebrated at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Music Hall Foyer. This amazing venue was the perfect backdrop for the Bride and Groom.

Guests enjoyed the music of a pianist (and a surprise dance!) during cocktail hour in the Balcony Foyer before moving to the main hall. With Pittsburgh’s top wedding band and event performer John Parker and The John Parker Band providing awesome entertainment, there was surly no shortage of special moments for Brian Reid of Reid Portraits to capture (a sampling of those photos is below) Jessica and Adrian’s guests danced all night!

A venue this majestic is pretty much all you need for a great wedding. Fun family, friends & great music doesn’t hurt either!

Under a magnificent tent on the sprawling grounds of a beautiful private home in suburban Baltimore Maryland, Katie and Matt celebrated their wedding day with a outdoor reception to dream of.  ♥  The  estate’s grounds overlooked the farm where Katie grew up,  which made the setting all the more romantic!

John Parker and his Band, deployed their special setup for tents & with their 8 piece band played a fun mix of songs that kept the bride and groom and their guests dancing for hours! Baltimore wedding photographer Dennis Drenner captured amazing images – here are 6 of them:

JP snapped a few with his iPhone as well:

Congratulations to Katie and Matt!

Is YOUR Wedding Gown waterproof? – does your videographer have SCUBA gear handy? – this post Wedding swim by a wedding party after a Florida Wedding in Palm Beach was caught by John Parker on iPhone video.

Florida Wedding Pool Jump
Towards the end of the video – look at the bottom of the screen. The funniest thing is the videographer complete with underwater light & complete scuba gear including mask and fins swimming in the pool. Is that extra? And I wonder, does pool water have an adverse effect on Wedding Gown preservation? 🙂

I have had so many great engagements at the Carnegie Museum Music Hall Foyer – and I always tell my family how nice it is. So imagine my surprise when my favorite people in the whole world came to visit!

My client & the Carnegie staff both have known Sara & Wes from when they were born & were very gracious, & surprised at how big they had gotten – though I’d like to keep them 5 & 6 for a little while longer! 🙂

And my daughter, Sara, wanted to hear her favorite song – “Sara Smile”

Happy days… Here’s to family! – john

I have been to so many weddings it seems like I might know a thing or two about them.

Yet still I was reluctant to blog.  Who would want to read about the weddings I had done or our thoughts about weddings generally?

But rather than continuing to ask “Why would someone want to hear about it…?”    – finally I have decided, ”Why the heck not?”  And here I am.   For better or worse.  (wow, that’s bad)

Welcome!  – john
